A Family Celebration, NOT a Hallmark Movie!

Pam's Page 29- "Family Life"
Dearest blogging girlfriends-

I’m sure you’ve noticed I temporarily fell off the Blogging World (tee-hee). My last post was on Christmas Eve, after that my focus was on creating awesome Holiday Memories. Ten days where our house became a Bed-N-Breakfast for 12 special people.

-We flew our daughter and family in from Washington, D.C.
-We drove both sets of our parents up from Iowa, Scott’s parents and my Mother.
-Plus, our son and his dear girlfriend stopped by after work and on their days off.

MY PLAN:
I had all those togetherness thoughts of how our “Family Holiday” moments should be just like I was starring in my own version of a Hallmark Movie (tee-hee).

I envisioned preparing every meal….picture perfect. Everyone would want to play the same card or board games. We would all love to rent the same DVD. Even though our age span was 4 months old to 80 years old….we would all want to do everything the same (tee-hee)! NOT!!!! Eventually, some compromises were made.

I think this is my Christmas message this year---Making together happen doesn’t need to be PERFECT.

This year it's to see, look for, discover, embrace and appreciate the beautiful imperfection I call LIFE.

There is beauty in every imperfect aspect of my LIFE, if only I'll make the choice to see it. Enjoy every moment regardless of it’s Hallmark Movie quality (tee-hee)! I love this beautiful imperfection we call life.
I cherish every moment God blesses us with a family gathering!
I love our life.
Together.

Merry Christmas, from Scott and I....

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Scott and I wish you all great joy and peace this Holiday Season!

White Christmas.....yipeeeeee!

Pam's Page 28 "Family Life"
Yipeeeeee! It's a very "White Christmas" and I'm ready for our home to be filled with extra laughter and joy over the next few days.....as we celebrate the birth of our Savior!

I've completed all the "Suzie Home Maker" stuff - cleaning, decorating and buying out the grocery store (tee-hee). Now, I just want to ENJOY......

We will start with an amazing Christmas Eve Service at our Church tonight. I just love the candle light Christmas Eve service we attend at church. It is such a blessing to my heart. We light the candles down the row, passing the light to one another. It is so beautiful….we sing (I try to sing but mostly cry). God is so amazing. I thank Him for all our blessings. Where He's brought us from, where He is taking us and the trials along the way to keep us humble and close to Him.
The rest of Christmas - on to sharing many additional Christmas Traditions.....baked goodies, favorite books, games, thoughts, prayers, and festive fun!

I wish you all a blessed Christmas filled with Gods love, peace and joy! May God's blessings be abundant and apparent in your lives. May you be able to share His love with others. May you enjoy your Christmas season with overflowing joy!

Christmas Cornflake Wreath Cookies

Tonight I made my first batch of Wreath Cookies, for this season.
Making this recipe has been our family tradition, for many years!
Not only do these cookies taste great....but we love how festive they look.

Ingredients

1 (10 ounce) package regular
marshmallows or 4 cups miniature marshmallows
1 teaspoon green food coloring
6 cups corn flakes
red cinnamon candies

Directions1. In large saucepan, melt butter over low heat.
2. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat. Stir in food coloring.
3. Add corn flakes cereal. Stir until well coated
4. Using 1/4 cup dry measure coated with cooking spray, evenly portion warm cereal mixture.
Using buttered fingers, quickly shape into individual wreaths. Dot with cinnamon candies.

Merry Christmas, not just "politically correct" - Happy Holidays!

The past few years I had noticed that Christmas has become so 'politically correct' that no mention of Christmas was made by most retailers, they usually wished people 'Happy Holidays.'
So this year I am making a conscious effort to wish everyone Merry Christmas...my way of saying that I'm celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. I was especially encouraged today- As I visited the mall and my local grocery store. Every single person that I wished Merry Christmas too.....REPLIED back with Merry Christmas too! It was as though.....they where longing to KEEP the true meaning alive as well. Yipeeeeee! I'm sure the angels are celebrating these positive moments in Heaven!
God Bless and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Jesus is Better than Santa

Pam's Page 26 - "Friendships"
Jesus is Better than Santa
Santa lives at the North Pole.JESUS is everywhere.Santa rides in a sleighJESUS rides on the wind and walks on the water.
Santa comes but once a yearJESUS is an ever present help.
Santa fills your stockings with goodiesJESUS supplies all your needs.
Santa comes down your chimney uninvitedJESUS stands at your door and knocks.. And then enters your heart.
You have to stand in line to see SantaJESUS is as close as the mention of His name.
Santa lets you sit on his lap
JESUS lets you rest in His arms.
Santa doesn't know your name, all he can say is "Hi little boy or girl, What's your name?"
JESUS knew our name before we did. Not only does He know our name, He knows our address too. He knows our history and future and He even knows how many hairs are on our heads.
Santa has a belly like a bowl full of jellyJESUS has a heart full of love.
All Santa can offer is HO HO HO
JESUS offers health, help and hope.
Santa says "You better not cry"JESUS says "Cast all your cares on me for I care for you.
Santa's little helpers make toys
JESUS makes new life, mends wounded hearts, repairs broken homes and builds mansions.
Santa may make you chuckle but
JESUS gives you joy that is your strength.
While Santa puts gifts under your tree
JESUS became our gift and died on the tree.

It's obvious there is really no comparison-We need to remember WHO Christmas is all about.
We need to put Christ back in Christmas.
Jesus is still the reason for the season.
May The Lord Bless & Watch Over You & Your Loved Ones This Christmas 2008 And May He Prosper & Bless The Work Of Your Hands In The New Year

GOD BLESS

WAX Museum can really be a blast for the entire family.....

Pam's Page 27- "Family Life"

Hello sweet blogging girlfriends-

I never really get a kick out of visiting a Wax Museum! It's not an interactive experience....so I can easily get bored! Can any of you relate?

This week we visited a Wax Museum like I've never seen before-
The Museum was set up.....specifically so you would take pictures WITH the characters! They even offered you props to wear (tee-hee). It was amazing, we had a blast!
