My Birthday with Mom….was PRICELESS!

Pam’s Page 32 – “Family Life”

My Birthday on Saturday was an absolute blast! The evening was a special time of Church, followed by a Family Gathering at our Home.

However, it was the events before evening that were “PRICELESS”….literally!
Mom and I spent the day shopping, but with our CRAZY humor…it took a strange spin!

I would call our shopping day “PRICELESS” but really “CHEAP-SKATE” would be a more accurate description!

SAVE-ING A BUCK OR TWO? The “Cheapskates” went to IKEA...

(1) We had the $0.99 Breakfast Special (eggs, potatoes and bacon)…cheapest breakfast in town.
(2) Looked at IKEA’s amazing furniture and house hold items…but only picked up napkins and a small set of juice glasses!
(2) IKEA does not provide free sacks at checkout. However, we saved $0.05….by carrying (no sack) our IKEA purchases to the car!

SAVE-ING A BUCK OR TWO? The “Cheapskates” went Consignment Shopping...
We had fun and frolic at the Consignment Clothing Store! We tried on tons of clothes….yet - I spent only $20.00 and Mom spent $32.00 SAVE-ING A BUCK OR TWO? The “Cheapskates” went out to eat...
We chose noon lunch at O’Cucumber Buffet….instead of the 5pm higher priced supper menu!
SAVE-ING A BUCK OR TWO? The “Cheapskates” needed groceries...
We picked up Hamburger Buns at the Wonder Bread Outlet Store, instead of the grocery store!

Needless to say, this was not a normal shopping day in MY life! However…..it was proof – you really don’t need to spend much money if your goal is to have a..........“PRICELESS” Day (tee-hee)!
Thank you Lord for my precious Mother and the many wonderful moments we have shared!

Thank you Asha, my dear friend!

Pam’s Page 30 “Friendships”
I hold on to good friends….

….like dear Asha, who just surprised me with a “heart-felt” gift on Saturday. She blessed me with a beautiful multi-colored Scarf from India, her home country!

Our relationship originally started over business, and blossomed into….huge respect for each other! Now we celebrate a special friendship!

We help each other to see the champion, from within!
Are YOU spending time with friends that bring out the best in you? Friends that inspire YOU? Friends that love you exactly the way you are; and yet see your full potential?
Those kinds of friends are few and far between!
Cherish them!
Seek them!
You deserve them too!

Happy 3rd Birthday to me!

Pam's Frolic

My phone rang early this morning!
At the other end I heard our 3yr old granddaughter say, “Happy Birthday to me!”

Then she sang the traditional Birthday Song, complete with….”Happy Birthday Alisa, Happy Birthday to me!”

Followed by, ”Are you and Papa coming to my Mini Mouse Birthday Party today?”

Yes, for any of you that have studied the Personality Books- You already know she is a “Sanquine” or “High I”……people person! She is tons of fun, life of the party and an absolute joy! She loves people, loves life and.....
She loves being the center of attention!

Biblical parenting and grand-parenting involves- encouraging, exhorting, and empathizing with children according to their unique needs and character. At the same time following the command to - Raise up a child in the way he/she should go (Proverbs 22:6).

What makes life REALLY fun is the different personalities our children and grandchildren have! It’s remembering to recognize, accept, and appreciate each of their temperaments. Celebrating that each one is a unique gift from God.
As for Alisa’s big day…..we are not visiting the East Coast today, so we will not be attending her 3rd Birthday Party. However, knowing how important this is to HER (her personality)….we probably won’t miss too many of her future parties (tee-hee)!

Special Dad-Daughter memories from a Purity Ball.

Pam's Page 31- "Family Life"

Today my dear friend Kim shared with me that God has been doing some amazing things in their families lives! Last Friday night, her husband took their daughter on a very special date….to a Purity Ball.

~ Mike & Daughter Sereen ~

What is a Purity Ball?

This Christ-centered event is designed to encourage and support the father/daughter relationship, facilitate discussion and prayer, strengthen their relationship and provide them with an avenue to commit themselves to living a pure life.

Kim describes the event“They had it all decorated in white, they had white roses, gave one to each girl and they in turn rededicated their lives to Christ by putting the rose on a cross up front. The dad's were given the key to the daughter's heart, which he is to give to her husband to be on the wedding day. They had a father daughter dance, had some dance lessons....took pictures of each pair, and the daughter received her purity ring. They had a couple speakers that were just awesome I guess. They had a fancy supper.”

"People who aim at nothing hit it with amazing accuracy!"

May your troubles be less,
May your blessings be more,
May nothing but happiness come through your door!

~ Join Me ~
2009 Target
~ Creating Victory Habits ~
-No one is in charge of my happiness except me.

-Remember that I are too blessed to be stressed.

-Forgive everyone for everything.

-Make peace with my past so it won't spoil the present.

-Frame every so-called disaster with these words: 'In five years, will this matter?'

-The best is yet to come.

-Enjoy the ride. I will remember this is not Disney World and I certainly don't want a fast pass. I only have one ride through life so I'll make the most of it and enjoy the ride.

-Each night before I go to bed I will complete the following statements:
I am thankful for __________. Today I accomplished _________.

-When I wake up in the morning I will complete the following statement,
'My purpose is to __________ today.'

-Live with the 3 E's -- Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy.
-Play more games and read more books than I did in 2008.

-Make more time to be in God's Word, practice more meditation and prayer. Drawing closer to my Lord. This provides me with daily fuel for my busy life. He is my strength!

-Spend time with people over the age of 70 and under 6yrs.

-Dream more while I'm awake.

-Eat breakfast like a Queen, lunch like a Princess and dinner like a college girl with a maxed out charge card.

-Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less processed foods like this....(tee-hee)

-Drink green tea and plenty of water. Eat blueberries, wild Alaskan salmon, broccoli, almonds & walnuts.

-Take a 10 to 30 minute walk every day. And while I walk, smile.
-Try to make at least three people smile each day.

-Don't waste my precious energy on gossip, OR issues of the past, negative thoughts or things I cannot control. Instead invest my energy in the positive present moment.
-Realize that life is a school and I am here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons I learn will last a lifetime.

-Smile and laugh more. It will keep the NEGATIVE away.
-Don't take myself so seriously. No one else does.

-Envy is a waste of time.

-Don't compare my life to others. I have no idea what their journey is really all about....

We are to strive to “live holy and Godly lives as we look forward to the day of God.” (2 Peter 3:11,12)
